The human eye on the contrary creates colour images : those of the rainbow. Yet there are people who cannot see some colours : red, green or blue.
This eyesight fault is called a funny name : dyschromatopsia.

Dyschromatopsia : what could this be ?
This seemingly barbaric word simply means a disorder of colour vision. It affects mainly men : 8 % as compared to 0,5 % of women. It consists in not seeing certain colours. Among them : red (it is then called colour-blindness), green or blue. In some cases dyschromatopsia is a hereditary disorder. There is no way of correcting the vision of colours. One learns to cope with it !
This disorder can be detected.
A warning sign ? The child finds it difficult to learn the colours at nursery school or can mix them for example. In this case, consult an eye doctor.
