In the light that the sun conveys, there are harmful rays that we can neither see nor feel.

They are called ultraviolet rays or UV rays.
If UV rays reach your eyes, they may damage them. Fortunately, there are sunglasses to protect the eyes from UV rays. However it is very important not to look directly at the sun.

Some advice

Do not forget to wear sunglasses when it is sunny !

For more details  UV rays and children do not mix

Confronted by the sun and UV rays, children, especially younger ones, are the first population at risk.
  • Why ?
Because their eyes are much more permeable to the light than adults. Before the age of 12, their crystalline lens, which will become opaque as they grow older, is still very transparent : it does not filter all UV rays. It does not play its protecting role to the retina.
