When you go to the optician’s, he orders lenses adapted to your eyesight disorder and your eyes from a specialized laboratory.
He also chooses between “mineral” lenses - fragile, they are for adults - and "organic" lenses - resistant, they are perfect for children !
Some people wear contact lenses instead of glasses : which they put directly on their eyes during the day.

Some advice

Choose a frame that you like with the help of the optician who will be able to give you advice, and with the help of your parents who know what suits you !

  • Glasses have become a fashion accessory today. Help your child to choose a frame adapted to their features and personality ! Then they will accept them without complaining…

  • From an aesthetic point of view, it is better when the frames reach up to just below the eyebrows ; it is possible that the frames partly hide the eyebrows as well !

  • What about the material ?
Natural materials (wood, tortoiseshell…), plastic, synthetic resin or metal… There are so many materials to choose from ! For children, choose a material that is strong, soft and resistant. Metal frames can prove dangerous because of the nosepads which can bend and hurt the child. Up to 6 years old, plastic is necessary : it is light and protects their fragile nose. After the age of 6, your child can choose the material he or she prefers !
